This blog is the start of an effort to compile useful resources helpful for wind and weather forecasts for kitesurfing and snowkiting in the Alps (e.g. Alpine lakes and passes).
Most large scale models do not resolve small features that capture valley flows. Recently some open source high resolution modeling products start resolving features related to valley flows. Some of these open source data provide more accurate short-term forecasts for mountain lakes (e.g. Reschensee, Achensee, Idro, Gardasee, Lago di Santa Croce) and passes. The kitewetter blog provides resources for local weather conditions that is hopefully useful to some looking for suitable kiting conditions in the Eastern Alps.
